Bhopal municipal corp to end contract over delay in housing project
BMC commissioner, KVS Chaudary told the media that the private agency contract would be terminated if there is a delay in completing the ongoing work under the government’s housing-for-all scheme.
Chaudary told the media during inspection of the site at Shyam Nagar on Tuesday that there would be no penalty, but the contract of the agency would be terminated if the construction of houses under the housing-for-all scheme is not completed within the time limit.
The agency was asked to complete construction work for residential housing by November 12, and it includes the construction of two blocks of EWS houses and four LIG blocks.
City engineer AR Pawar, BMC additional commissioner Chandra Pratap Gohal, and other corporation officers were present during the inspection.
The construction also incorporates MIG blocks situated near the 12 Number Stop area, and the 20 EWS blocks for slum dwellers have been planned under construction. Only five of nine blocks for slum dwellers are scheduled to be completed by November currently.
