Bengaluru to have 175 km metro network by June 2025

The Bengaluru metro rail project is on track and will complete 175 kilometres of commuter metro network by June 2025, according to Anjum Parwez, Managing Director, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL).

As part of the project's second and third phases, Bangalore will have 314 kilometres of metro rail connectivity by 2041. On the airport side, metro line construction is progressing. The most difficult challenges to urban mobility are the integration of multi-modal transportation networks and inspiring individuals to switch from personal to public transportation. According to Parvez, urban India was the most neglected area until the 1990s because urban planning was not in sync with connectivity or mobility issues.
