BEL Wins Rs 5.93 Billion IAF Contract for Akash Missile Maintenance
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured a contract worth Rs 5.93 billion (excluding taxes) from the Indian Air Force for the comprehensive maintenance of the Akash Missile System. Originally supplied by BEL, the system highlights the company’s ongoing role in supporting India’s defence infrastructure.
This new contract adds to BEL’s order book at the start of FY 2025-26, reinforcing its growth momentum. Additionally, BEL has successfully negotiated further orders worth Rs 50 billion, underlining its strong project pipeline and leadership in the defence electronics sector.
For FY 2024-25, BEL reported provisional revenue of Rs 230 billion —a 16% year-on-year increase—despite falling short of its Rs 250 billion order intake target. Export sales also rose 14% year-on-year to $106 million, up from $92.28 million in FY 2024.
