Bandra East Govt Colony to Be Evaluated for Redevelopment

CM Eknath Shinde has directed that the Bandra East government colony's Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) area be evaluated and a specific redevelopment plan submitted.

Shinde noted that a decision on rebuilding will be made after evaluating the SRA's site in the government colony, its capacity, and all technical concerns, including the funnel zone.

The colony is built on a 90-acre government site and houses 4,782 units for officers and employees from first to fourth class.

""As many as 169 buildings have been tagged 'dangerous', 68 'super-dangerous', and 101 buildings will be vacated and service accommodation will be given to the employees through lottery. Work on four of the 12 under-construction buildings has been completed. One of the 12 buildings will be given to Savitribai Phule Government Hostel,"" an official said.

The new Bombay high court complex will be built on around 30 acres of land.
