Aurangabad smart city board approves key projects for development
The Board of Directors of the Aurangabad Smart City has approved some vital Smart City projects that would lead to the growth of Aurangabad in the coming years. CEO of Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL), Astik Kumar Pandey, said that these projects include smart roads, health, education and street and road transformation, which have been given clearance. He said that the approved projects could only be implemented if the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) could secure the loan and pay its share before 31 March. The government's share will be released after the AMC contributes. The 16th board meeting took place under the chairmanship of Baldev Singh, the additional chief secretary of the state industries department. Ulhas Gaoli, Chairman of Narayana Infra Ventures, was nominated independent director of the ASCDCL. The development of 111 roads worth Rs 317 crore will be taken up by the ASCDCL. The board members have decided to build three state-of-the-art multi-speciality hospitals and renovate public health centres in all nine zones of the AMC. The board approved hiring 40 electric buses, including five double-decker electric buses, on a contract basis by 2024. The board approved setting up second and third skill development centres like City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) N-5, the illumination of Kranti Chowk flyover and the Shiv Srushti project.The board gave post-facto approval to the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) and Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the metro rail project. The ASCDCL told board members that 25 smart traffic signals had been installed. The Aurangabad Smart City has prepared a proposal for transforming four streets and received approval for the renovation of Sant Tukaram Natyagruh at Rs 9.99 crore. Image Source
