Aurangabad civic body to launch holistic e-governance platform
The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is developing a holistic e-governance platform that would benefit the citizens in accessing different necessary services.
The services include delivery of birth and death certificates with online payment of water and property tax.
AMC has also started preparing a digitized record of properties with other civic reports, using the Geographic Information System (GIS) survey covering a 170 sq km area.
The Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) has involved two private companies for this work.
According to the release, the e-governance project includes the deployment of an integrated municipal application for over 30 departments and services complemented by a modern portal, citizen apps, and payment gateways.
It would even involve grievance redressal mechanisms and observe modernisation of the regional area network in AMC offices, with the establishment of Citizen Facilitation Centres at different zonal offices.
AMC administrator Astik Kumar Pandey said both the projects would start operating from the next FY.
