Assam CM announces Rs 17.76 billion development projects in Guwahati
Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister, Assam, laid the foundation stone for seven infrastructure projects totaling Rs 17.76 billion in the state's capital, including a new Raj Bhavan and Guwahati Police Commissioner's office.
At Kharghuli, Sarma began by laying the cornerstone for a new Raj Bhavan in the presence of Jagdish Mukhi, Assam Governor.
The new Raj Bhavan, which would cost Rs 410.32 million to construct and take 18 months, will be among the most exquisite governor residences in the nation.
In Khanapara, Guwahati, he also laid the cornerstone for the new Police Commissionerate's building.
According to Sarma, the government will invest an additional Rs 5.44 billion on the renovation of the Guwahati Police Reserve Campus.
