Andhra Pradesh to adopt global technology for energy efficiency


The Andhra Pradesh government will welcome several national and international agencies, such as the United States Agency for International Development and Organisation of Economic Cooperation, International Energy Agency, and Development through the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, to collaborate with Andhra Pradesh in its energy efficiency movement.

Adityanath Das, Chief Secretary, participating in a webinar, told the media that during Covid-19 last year, the state government announced Rs 1,100 crore financial assistance to MSMEs as a restart package.

The energy department has been directed by the chief secretary to report department-wise initiatives and the establishment and working of energy conservation cells in the next executive committee meeting.

He told the media that Andhra Pradesh would entirely focus on decreasing the greenhouse gas emissions and that it would support the government of India in mitigating the ill effects of climate change by adopting both long-term and short-term strategies by covering all the stakeholders.

Das also said that Andhra Pradesh aims to become a role model in promoting green energy through energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in India.
