Ammunition cartridge found on Dubai-Delhi Air India flight
An ammunition cartridge was discovered in a seat pocket on Air India flight AI916 from Dubai to New Delhi after it landed at the New Delhi airport on October 27. All passengers had safely disembarked before the cartridge was found, according to an Air India spokesperson.
Following the discovery, Air India promptly filed a complaint with the Airport Police in line with standard security protocols.
In a related incident, Air India flight AI216, returning to New Delhi from Nepal, received a bomb threat on Monday while at Tribhuvan International Airport. This was the second such threat at the airport in one week. Authorities activated emergency procedures, and after an extensive four-hour search by the Nepal Army bomb squad and police canine unit, the threat was deemed a hoax as no suspicious items were found.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal confirmed that normal operations resumed following the security checks. (ET)
