AM Green and DP World Partner to Build Green Fuel Export Infrastructure
AM Green, a leading producer of green hydrogen and ammonia, has entered into a strategic collaboration with global logistics leader DP World to establish a sustainable supply chain for green fuels and chemicals. The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in December, seeks to facilitate the annual export of one million tonnes of green ammonia and an equal volume of green methanol.
Under the partnership, both companies will develop logistics and storage infrastructure necessary for these exports. This initiative includes establishing port facilities within AM Green’s Net-Zero Industrial Clusters, setting up bunkering infrastructure in Dubai, India, and Southeast Asia, and constructing terminal facilities in regions such as the European Union, the Far East, and the UAE. These efforts aim to support zero-carbon supply chains for major consumption markets.
AM Green is also progressing on multiple renewable energy projects in India, leveraging solar, wind, and hydroelectric resources to produce sustainable aviation fuel, green ammonia, hydrogen, chemicals, and biofuels. The company has set a target to achieve a production capacity of five million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2030, contributing to India’s net-zero goals and global decarbonisation efforts. It has already committed to a green ammonia plant with a one MTPA capacity in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
Mahesh Kolli, Founder of the Greenko Group and AM Green, highlighted that this partnership aligns with India’s aspirations to become a global green energy exporter. He emphasised that the collaboration would streamline exports of green fuels and support the transition to a low-carbon global economy.
Yuvraj Narayan, DP World Group’s Deputy CEO and CFO, noted that the agreement demonstrates DP World’s dedication to promoting sustainable supply chains. He stated that leveraging their logistics expertise alongside AM Green’s production capabilities will significantly contribute to the distribution of clean fuels and products, furthering the global sustainability agenda.
This alliance is expected to play a critical role in fostering global decarbonisation by creating an efficient and environmentally friendly supply chain for green fuels and chemicals.
