Airport Metro Link Set for March 2025 Launch

The eagerly awaited Airport Metro Link is set to begin operations by March 2025. Recently, the Yellow Line’s Noapara-Dum Dum Cantonment section, covering 3 km, received clearance from the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) for commercial use. Metro Railway has now revised its plans, extending the Yellow Line Phase-I by an additional 4 km from Dum Dum Cantonment to the airport.

This extension aims to offer seamless metro connectivity for commuters heading to the airport. P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager of Metro Railway, inspected the Dum Dum Cantonment-Airport section, signaling progress in track-laying efforts.

Once operational, the Blue Line will provide airport access to residents from both the southern and northern areas, while the Orange Line will serve those along EM Bypass, allowing for easy transfers at Noapara to reach the airport.
