Ahmedabad Railway Division to Launch 34 New Services for Mahakumbh


In preparation for the Mahakumbh Mela, the Ahmedabad Railway Division will introduce 34 new train services to facilitate pilgrim travel.

Ajay Solanki, PRO of Ahmedabad Railway, announced that out of 98 new services by Western Railway, these 34 will connect key destinations, including Sabarmati to Banaras and Rajkot to Banaras.

To ensure passenger safety and convenience, Railway Protection teams will be deployed for crowd management. Train bookings have already started for the Kumbh Mela.

Simultaneously, the Uttar Pradesh government is deploying over 5,000 special buses, including 550 electric vehicles, to assist the huge number of devotees expected during the peak days.

Additionally, over 1 lakh passengers will be accommodated with world-class facilities, including a luxury tent city near Triveni Sangam.

The Mahakumbh will take place from January 10 to February 24, 2025, with key bathing festivals on January 14, January 29, and February 3.
