Acciona, RMC to Build Breakwater

Acciona and RMC have secured a 216 million euro contract to build a breakwater at the Ravenna LNG terminal in Italy. The project aims to enhance the port's infrastructure and provide secure access for LNG vessels, reinforcing Italy's strategic position in the energy sector.

The breakwater will be an essential part of expanding the Ravenna terminal, which plays a critical role in LNG importation to meet Italy’s growing energy demands. This investment is also aligned with the European Union's long-term goals to reduce dependency on traditional energy sources and enhance energy security by promoting cleaner alternatives like LNG.

Acciona, a global leader in sustainable infrastructure, and RMC, with its extensive experience in marine construction, will utilize cutting-edge technology to ensure the durability and functionality of the breakwater. The completion of this project is expected to improve the operational efficiency of the terminal and contribute significantly to Italy's energy transition.
