ABB India commemorates 75 years of operations, highlighting its contributions to India’s industrial growth, technological innovation, and sustainability. Since its inception in 1949, ABB has driven electrification, automation, and digitalization across 23 sectors, supporting India's growth trajectory.
Key facilities like the Faridabad hub (energy-efficient motors), Vadodara campus (railway traction and industrial motors), and Nashik plant (renewable energy components) underscore ABB’s focus on advanced, sustainable technologies. Bengaluru’s Nelamangala campus and Peenya site further emphasize Industry 5.0 practices and energy-efficient solutions.
Morten Wierod, CEO of ABB, lauded India's role in ABB’s global innovation, citing investments in the largest R&D center and workforce expansion. Sanjeev Sharma, MD of ABB India, emphasized ABB’s commitment to "Make in India," supporting initiatives like green hydrogen, battery storage, and digital transformation.
From introducing IoT in energy to partnering with Indian Railways’ electrification, ABB has consistently led industrial innovation. Sustainability efforts include IGBC-certified campuses, a 50 per cent reduction in waste to landfill, and an 80% cut in greenhouse gas emissions since 2019.
