Adani Green inks pact with SECI to supply 4,667 MW green power

On Tuesday, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) told the media that it inked a pact with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to provide 4,667 Mw of green power.

Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group, told the media that observing the proceedings at COP 26, it is clear that the world has to equitably shift to a low carbon economy quicker than expected earlier. That is why the Adani Group has dedicated $50-$70 billion of investment in the renewables player by 2030.

The AGEL-SECI pact to provide 4,667 Mw is part of a manufacturing-linked solar proposal of 8,000 MW granted to AGEL by SECI in June last year.

AGEL has inked PPAs with SECI for a cumulative production capacity of about 6,000 MW of the 8,000 MW granted last year. AGEL anticipates closing the balance of 2,000 MW power purchase agreements in the coming 2-3 months.
